Below is more information based on Frequently asked questions.
Delivery of our Slush machines on Option 1 RTB Warranty. All the items are delivered strapped on to a pallet. The delivery truck normally has a tail lift fitted and the driver should wheel it out using their own pallet trucks and deliver it to the door or as close as they can. On the top of the box that contains the machine you will find a clear document pouch containing a packing list. Open this immediately and check off all the items. Unwrap the pallet and move the items separately. Sack trucks would be useful, otherwise two people will be needed to move the machine. To unpack the machine, cut the two straps (these may be covered with brown tape) and lift the box up off the machine.
Installation, What’s involved? Not allot. Take it out of the box, set it up on the counter, fill with syrup and switch on. A twin bowl machine weighs about 55 kg empty, When you fill it you are adding another 25 kg of liquid. Make sure your counter or table is strong and sturdy enough to take it. As with all refrigeration equipment a Slush machine needs ventilation. Make sure you keep at least 50mm space all around the machine and never allow the vents to become obstructed. Machine uses standard plug, locate machine as close to the mains socket as possible. Use of extension lead is not recommended. No plumbing is needed for our machines as they are all manual fill.
Getting started. The syrups we manufacture and supply with your slush machine are diluted with water at a ratio of 6 - 1. One part syrup and six parts water. This means, if you use a jug, fill it once with syrup then six times with tap water to obtain the right consistency. Repeat to fill the machine. To help you, with your machine we send a couple of empty syrup bottles with syrup line and water line ready marked. Fill the machine above the minimum level line and switch on. Put all the switches on no 1. That’s in the up position. See the “quick start guide” for more info. or, Click here and watch our short film. Initial freeze down time will take 40 minutes to an hour depending on ambient temperature. When it looks ready, start serving. The consistency of the product is regulated automatically so just leave it running. The consistency of the product can be adjusted by turning a little wheel at the back of each bowl. When doing this try not to make a too hard a product, Remember, you are serving an icy slush drink, not ice cream.
Switching off at the end of the day. The spirals keep the product moving, when they stop moving small hard pieces of ice can form. If these are in the machine when you turn it back on in the morning this could jam the spiral and break it. To avoid this from happening the following shutdown procedure should be followed. about 40 minutes before shutting down, turn the refrigeration switch to zero. Its the top middle switch. click it to middle position. This will turn off the compressor and the product will start to defrost. If possible before switching of completely, refill ready for next day.
Cleaning your slush machine. Serving non pre-packaged drinks from vending machines is governed by the same regulations as serving food, therefore it is important to keep the machine hygienically clean. It is not difficult, find out more, click here and watch our short film about cleaning. This should be carried out about once a week.
Maintenance. There is very little maintenance you need to do apart from keeping the machine clean. However, keeping the condenser clean is also very important as failing to do so may shorten the life of the compressor. With your machine we send an information sheet about this and you can click here to read it now.
